Women’s History Month in Manhattan: A Celebration for All

In case you somehow missed it, Women’s History Month is here! Beginning on March 1 and ending on March 31, the entire month of March should be spent celebrating the various accomplishments and contributions women of all kinds have made to the world at large. Moreover, given that we are finally entering into an age in which women are starting to receive the respect and opportunities they have been pining for, this is all the more reason for everyone to join in on the celebration.

Those in NYC have their choice of a variety of awesome events. The following are a few suggestions for celebrating women’s history month.

Generation Women

Simply put, Generation Women is an event in which “The Regulars” author, Georgia Clark, welcomes four other women ranging in age from their 20s to their 60s. Taking place at Caveat, this event is a way to meet some powerful women and learn about the various challenges and rewards that can occur at all levels of life.

Spring Revolution Festival

On another note, the Spring Revolution Festival is a two-week-long event with an array of performances inspired by Stravinsky’s “The Rite of Spring.” With this year’s focus placed on multicultural women, the lineup features artists from China, Russia, Australia, Ireland and Cuba. The festival wraps up with the Pan-Asia Sounding Festival, a six-performance fest (within a fest) curated by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Du Yun.

The Future Is Female

Lastly, a magnificent event for men and women from all walks of life, The Future Is Female is an event taking place at Nighthawk Cinema. Presenting eight sci-fi films directed by women, this event is ideal for those who love both sci-fi and intelligent women.

Overall, there are many places to celebrate Women’s History Month in the Manhattan area. For those who maintain apartments in NYC, and especially those who reside in Carlyle’s NYC properties, these events are easily accessible by public and private transportation. There is no need to miss these inspiring events. Let’s all come together and show our appreciation for women of all kinds!
